Luciano Sderci was an Italian maker in Florence, son & pupil of renowned and prolific luthier Nicolo Igino Sderci. who was a pupil of L. Bisiach and in turn taught Bisiach’s sons.  Similar work to that of his father, he gained the highest award at the Cremona Exhibition in 1949 and medals awarded in Rome 1954.  Luciano's own instruments are considered of the highest quality and his skill, and is certainly evident on this violin.
